Houston, TX – August 7, 2019 – Leading trenchless rehabilitation services company, Vortex Companies, acquired Utah-based Stag Technologies (“Stag”), a high-performance coatings manufacturer serving the water, sewer and industrial infrastructure marketplace. “Stag’s management team has built a reputation for developing high performance epoxies and other coatings that we believe are unmatched in our industry,” said Mike Vellano, CEO of Vortex Companies (“Vortex”). “A lot of our work at Vortex involves the application of corrosion-resistant products. Stag’s coatings and linings complement our systems.”
In addition to the Stag acquisition, Vortex recently completed the acquisition of The Ted Berry Company (“Ted Berry”), a Maine based, New England area trenchless rehabilitation solutions provider. Located in Livermore, Maine, Ted Berry has built a reputation for providing exceptional service leveraged by its team’s depth of experience within the trenchless infrastructure rehabilitation market. “Strategically, this acquisition makes a lot of sense for us,” said Mr. Vellano. “The combination of our added services and Ted Berry’s experience further fortifies our position in the industry.”
“This is an exciting day for Ted Berry. In my experience with Vortex, they have always placed a high value on being a quality driven trenchless solutions provider,” said Matt Timberlake, President of Ted Berry. “It’s a good fit for us and we look forward to continuing to serve our existing customer base, as well as now having the ability to offer expanded trenchless services.”
In partnership with Platform Partners, Vortex continues to evaluate acquisition opportunities to expand its geographic presence, add management depth and diversify its product and service offering.
