Fred Lummis, Chairman, co-founded Platform and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Beacon Funeral Partners, Dynamic Glass, Encino Energy, NextEdge Networks, SmartSky Networks and VetIQ Staffing. In addition, Fred was on the Board of Platform’s investments in Avalon Advisors, Evergreen North America Industrial Services, Landmark Aviation and TRE Financial Services. Fred also serves as a trustee for Howard Hughes Medical Institute and recently served as Chairman of the Board of Baylor College of Medicine. He is also an advisory director of Amegy Bancorporation and director of Houston Baseball Partners. Prior to Platform, Fred co-founded The CapStreet Group where he managed its private equity investments. Fred has previous private equity experience with Duncan, Cook & Co. and Texas Commerce Bank. He also has significant operating experience having served as Chairman and CEO of American Tower Corporation, Advantage Outdoor Company and Cardtronics, Inc. Fred received his BA from Vanderbilt University and his MBA from The University of Texas at Austin. Fred and his wife, Claudia, have three grown children. He is an avid tennis player and baseball fan.
