Transaction Background

Platform was introduced to Mr. Williams, Basin Creek’s founder and President, through a long-term relationship of the firm, Bill Pate, the former CEO of Par Pacific (NYSE: PARR). While at Sam Zell’s private investment company, Equity Group Investments, Mr. Pate worked with Mr. Williams on the original development of Basin Creek. Together with Platform, they led an investor group to acquire Basin Creek. Platform’s role at Basin Creek is to provide guidance on the strategic and commercial direction of the business.
